Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Raymond Zhang follows the story of two families in China embarking on a perilous twenty-year journey searching for their missing family members. Along the way, they uncover a harrowing government-run organ harvesting operation that is destroying the lives of thousands of innocent victims, and still occurring to this day.
The powerful documentary explores how the rise of the Falun Gong movement caused deep jealousy in Chinese Communist party leader JIANG Ze-Min, and how that jealousy resulted in Falun Gong practitioners being directly targeted and subjected to forced organ harvesting.
With recent developments, including the H.R. 4132 Falun Gong Protection Act recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, the documentary is not only timely, but a vital educational film on a devastating and ongoing issue.

Raymond Zhang, Director, STATE ORGANS
"They don't provide anesthesia to the donor, " George told me.
"Why?" I asked.
I looked into the doctor's eyes and was deeply touched by his courage in exposing the state crime in China. He is the first military doctor who was at the scene of forced organ extraction and is willing to testify. He was ordered to remove the eyeballs of a 17-year-old boy.
Another main character, Yun, was an innocent young lady working for a German company's office in China. She loved singing, dancing, and handcrafting. She married a wonderful man named Sonny, a marine biologist. Their parents gifted them a beautiful apartment near the picturesque beach of Qingdao City.
Every morning, they would go to a park, play soft music, and meditate together. Since 1992, an ancient meditation practice rooted in traditional Chinese culture had rapidly gained popularity in China. The practice consisted of five meditative exercises centered on the moral principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Due to its effectiveness in improving health, by 1999, Falun Gong had attracted over 100 million followers, including Yun and Sonny.
However, the popularity of Falun Gong led to jealousy from the top leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin. In 1999, the dictator launched a brutal persecution campaign accompanied by hateful propaganda.
Sonny was killed in a labor camp. Determined to uncover the truth, Yun found herself in the crosshairs of the police. When she refused to be silenced, they forcibly disappeared her. Her crippled father, Jim, was left to navigate a labyrinth of despair as authorities stonewalled his desperate search for answers. For twenty years, they offered no explanation for his daughter’s vanishing from the penitentiary.
Since late 1999, China became the most attractive destination for organ transplant tourists worldwide. On June 24th, the U.S. Congress passed the H.R. 4132 Falun Gong Protection Act based on findings that Falun Gong followers had been subjected to forced organ harvesting for over 20 years.
It is a state crime with thousands of victims, and it continues.
On 17 June 2019, the China Tribunal pronounced its final judgment on organ harvesting in China, concluding that the Chinese Communist Party was, beyond reasonable doubt, guilty of committing crimes against humanity against China's Uyghur Muslim and Falun Gong populations, and that removing hearts and other organs from living victims constituted one of the worst mass atrocities of this century.
